ABOUT Us

The 2020 election really drove it home for us:
To be effective and united, our citizenry needs to be informed.

There's a huge and important movement to empower students and teachers with better civic education tools, but what happens when you're out of school?

We are lifelong voters, lifelong citizens, and lifelong participants in civic life. For our nation to move forward, we need lifelong civic education. That's the idea of Civics1.

Did you miss something important in school? Are you finding it hard to navigate the punditry because you aren't familiar enough with how government works? Did you used to know a lot more about all this, but you've forgotten a few things because, well, life has happened?

Whether you're fighting a local ordinance, hoping to become a more informed voter, or just trying to talk your cousin out of believing something she saw on Twitter, we're building a resource that gives you what you need to know - without making you feel like you're back in fifth grade.

Our differences are vast, but knowledge and empathy can move us forward. With civics, we can be one.
